The Problem

Mist/MQL coolant systems pose challenges to the modern machinist:

  • Start/stop: >2 sec. stabilization; too slow for ATC cycles.
  • Repeatability: Flow varies on restart and drifts mid-cycle.
  • Airspeed: Chips linger on the cut.
  • Health: Inhaled mist and dermatitis.
  • Validation: No visual, or statistical performance data.
  • CNC integration: Without PLC or G-code connectivity, systems can’t sync with your machine.

Origins

In 2022, while milling aluminum, a new fluid path was conceived. The first prototype solved the immediate frustration and led to a fluid metering method which we call Retrograde Flow Mixing.

What began as a shop necessity became a product development path, culminating in a granted U.S. patent.

Next Steps

The system underwent substantial development in early 2026, including a revision of the user interface and to how fluid consumption is quantified. Testing of these changes is continuing. If you are interested in being a beta tester, send us an email below.
